During May, June and July 2016 I had the pleasure to photographically accompany the gentle people of Die freien Maurer – a masonry, formwork and reinforcement company based in the swiss midland – on behalf of ibl und partner ag. The days started early and ended late but it was much fun and definitely worth […]
Last time I was shooting the show of Life is Pain it was the first time that I used the Fujifilm X-T1 for a show and since I think it is a spectacular camera my expectations were as high as they can get. After the show I was totally disappointed. And I didn’t really know […]
Yesterday was a pretty cold but sunshiny day so Caramelle and I headed to the «Waldegg Manor» in St. Niklaus – a neighboring commune of Solothurn – for a walk around the manor house and the «Kingspond» which is located in a beautiful forest close to the manor.
We’ve been gone fishing for a few days in the beautiful italian-speaking part of Switzerland called «Ticino». We stayed at a charming Rustico in «Ronco Sopra Ascona» surrounded by a pretty good deal of palm trees. Then headed down to the lake «Lago Maggiore» to catch some fish but returned empty handed. Unfortunately the fishing […]
From time to time I use Google Maps to find new places or routes to walk with our dog. So today I found a small village called Meienried wich looked pretty nice to go for a walk. My first goal was to walk around the «Alte Zihl». Unfortunately it wasn’t that much fun so after […]
Yesterday I was struggling with myself if I should go for a walk or not. I decided to go and was absolutely stoked about how beautiful the light and the colors were in Solothurn’s own Stadtwald. I really enjoyed the reflections in the small puddles on the sidewalk. Bad weather doesn’t mean bad photographs automatically.
It’s been a while since last time I did a Metamorphosis-Shooting – a photo-project which some of you may already know, some of you may not. My good friends of Life Is Pain asked me for some conert photographs and I could persuade them to do also the before and after photographs with me.
«Chrumm Durm» means leaning tower. It’s a defense tower built in the medieval located at the riverside in my home town Solothurn, Switzerland. I walk by this building every day on my way to work. Once in a while I take a photograph of the builing. And by time it happens to be a pretty […]
Yesterday we hiked to the Schauenburg way above the small village Lommiswil close to our home town. Well we actually drove way up and then walked around and enjoyed one of the most beautiful autumn days ever. The view is spectacular. It’s definitively worth a visit. On our way down we stopped at a curve […]
Last weekend we had a blast at a familiy celebration in beautiful St. Moritz in the Engadin region. We stayed at the perfectly situated hotel Waldhaus am See. After a three and a half hours ride from our home town we arrived at the hotel and the weather was just stunning. So we walked along […]
Like every year we've been travelling to Liguria in October. Liguria is a beautiful region in Italy between La Spezia and France. The mix of hills and sea is what makes it so charming. We usually stay for two weeks in San Bartolomeo al Mare in the region of Imperia, a one hour drive from Genoa.
For the last two months I was on assignment for a magazine called «Savoir Vivre». It’s all about living in Solothurn, Switzerland. My job was to portrait some local stores, restaurants and their owners. All photographs have been taken with the Fujifilm XT-1. Either with the 35mm f/1.4 or the 50-140mm f/2.8. You can check […]
In June 2014 a dream came true. We travelled through New England for two weeks, stayed a few days in New York and went up to New Haven, Essex, Newport, Cape Cod, Plymouth, Boston, Portland and even Vermont. With me I had the Fujilfilm X20 and my iPhone.
Flüeli-Ranft in the beautiful canton of Obwalden is placed in the the heart of Switzerland. The village is known as the birth place of Brother Klaus. The hotel Paxmontana in the style of art noveau puts its stamp on the small village. You can’t deny some similarity to Wes Anderson‘s Grand Budapest Hotel. All photographs […]
