Last time I was shooting the show of Life is Pain it was the first time that I used the Fujifilm X-T1 for a show and since I think it is a spectacular camera my expectations were as high as they can get. After the show I was totally disappointed. And I didn’t really know if I could blame it only on the really poor lighting on the stage or on the camera or myself.
So when Sämi asked me to shoot another show of his band my expectations were not that high as the last time. I only took the Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 with me. So I had a very small kit. Just one camera and one lens.
When they started I metered the light in camera and set it to 1/125s at ISO 3200 and f/1.4. The big change I made this time was to set the camera to the zone focusing mode. I selected the area and set it to continuous focusing and continuous shooting. And then I was absolutely overwhelmed by the excellent performance of the auto-focus system. The camera nailed the focus on almost every shot.
Enjoy a few shots from the show.
